National Geographic Society sets its mission this way: Inspiring people to care about the planet! Over the years, through its flagship magazine and TV channel, National Geographic has done just that to the millions of people. Not a small wonder.
For learners, watching the original National Geographic channel regularly has an extra bonus beyond its tall mission. The diverse, adventurous programs it produced–whether Talking to Elephant or Being Struck by Lightning–are the great materials to inspire you to learn English, too.
You can watch many video clips at the National Geographic’s website, or at the channel it set up at YouTube. If you are not in the advance level, check out the materials at the National Geographic Kids.
